JOB PURPOSE |
The Deli Clerks primary role is to cook and/or prepare various deli goods and to maintain proper inventory levels of deli products while providing every customer with an exceptional shopping experience. |
RESPONSIBILITIES |
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies Prepare hot and cold foods according to deli procedures and best practices Answer customer questions, help locate items, and provide recommendations Update displays, cases and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased Ensure work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment and floors, and removing trash Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction Operate computerized electronic scale in store deli to weigh, wrap, itemize, and total customer’s purchases Replenish items in seating area and deli case Retrieve product from storage area and stock freezer, cooler, or storage room as appropriate Washes dishes, pots, pans Sweep and mop floors as needed Clean interior of display cases Change oil and filter in deep fryer and sanitize food preparation equipment as necessary Perform other duties to ensure the overall success of our company |

Must be willing to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to complete tasks around equipment and product emitting high temperatures (approximately 465 degrees).Must be able to push a cart or rack weighing as much as 100 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time. Must be comfortable operating commercial deli and kitchen equipment including ovens, deep fryers, toaster ovens, meat slicers, microwave, kitchen utensils, and knifes. Must possess and wear slip-free footwear that meets company safety policy |
